Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has addressed concerns over rising fuel prices while emphasizing the need for optimism and continued national development.
Speaking during his official visit to Bayelsa State, the President highlighted key infrastructure projects, including the Yenagoa city road, describing them as important steps toward improving access, urban mobility, and economic growth in the region.

Tinubu acknowledged the current economic challenges facing Nigerians, particularly the impact of increased fuel prices on daily life. However, he encouraged citizens to remain hopeful and maintain a positive outlook, noting that Nigeria’s situation should be viewed within a broader regional context.
According to him, while the economic pressure is real, there is a need for perspective and resilience as the government continues to implement reforms aimed at stabilizing the economy.
The President also stressed that ongoing infrastructure projects are not only focused on development but also on job creation. He explained that construction activities provide employment opportunities for various groups, including artisans, suppliers, and laborers, thereby supporting local economies.
In addition, Tinubu reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between the federal and state governments. He noted that partnerships with states such as Delta State and Bayelsa will remain a priority in driving regional growth and improving the overall development of the Niger Delta.
He further emphasized the administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and policies that aim to strengthen the country and improve the living conditions of citizens.
The President concluded by appreciating the people of Bayelsa for their warm reception and support during his visit, while reiterating his administration’s focus on sustainable national development.
